If you can't hear any audio in premiere, especially in Windows 7 all you have to do is this:
In Premiere, go to Edit - Preferences - Audio Hardware
- On the right side of your screen you will see a list of audio hardware.
- You'll see that the two little speaker icons are positioned on your Audio Card instead of your Speakers.
- Just click and grab the speakers, one at a time, and drag them down onto the the rows that have SPEAKERS, instead of audio card (REALTECH for example is my windows 7 audio card).
- Now your audio will play in Premiere while scrubbing the timeline or playing in either the timeline or preview window. Who knew? A simple fix to a perplexing issue that I had to figure out.
Ggood luck. Cally Wolk, Mediapalette.com.
