Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 and Adobe Premiere Elements 4 do not natively support the AVCHD format.

This document explains available third-party solutions that will add support for the AVCHD format to Premiere pro CS3 and Premiere Elements 4

Adobe is aware that this is not an exhaustive list of solutions and that other solutions are and will become available and may be better suited to individual workflows.
